Pritzker Pavillion Under Construction Aug 19, 2003

Construction on Millennium Park was started roughly around the summer of 1999, that is construction on the garage started then. The garage has 2,186 parking spaces under the park and that garage sits atop Metra commuter railroad lines, that didn't stop running throughout the construction of this park.

More Info on Gehry's Jay Pritzker Pavilion Construction and some impressive pictures of all the cranes needed in one area for the top of the bandshell. Also a picture of the new Pedestrain Bridge connecting Millennium Park with Daley Bicentennial Park and hopefully the lake. The picture is nice in that it shows Gehry's steel bridge is not only covered with the material but is really a steel structure from inside and out, organic architecture.
